ABOUT BREAKING
Breakdance, also known as breaking or B-Boying, originated in the 1970s in New York City, USA. Its origins can be traced back to a combination of influences, including the funk music of James Brown, the martial arts moves of Bruce Lee, and other dance styles, including salsa and capoeira. Breakdance was developed by young African and Latino descended dancers who would perform on the streets, in clubs, and at block parties. B-Boying quickly raise to fame, and by the late 1970s, it had spread to other cities in the US, as well as to other countries.

Breaking is characterized by a series of high energy/explosive, or as we call it “Power moves”, such as spins, flips, and freezes. It evolved to a balanced dance style with the addition of footwork and various stand-up movements. In order to preform moves like those, you require to have strength, agility, body control, stamina, balance, as well as creativity and musicality. Through these factors you create your own style with personal specialties.
