About House
Housedance was born out of the house music scene, which emerged in the same period in Chicago. DJs would mix different styles of music, including disco, funk, and soul, to create a new sound that was perfect for dancing. As house music grew in popularity, so did the dance style that came to be known as housedance.
The dance style is characterized by its fluid, smooth movements and intricate footwork. Dancers move to the beat of the music, often improvising their moves and responding to the rhythms of the music. House dance is also known for its acrobatic and athletic elements, with dancers often incorporating jumps, spins and floorwork into their routines.
