BACKGROUND
Brandon’s dance trajectory originally started with trying out hiphop but he didn’t feel it quite fit. Virgil (Tha Vurgg) took him to a performance of his brother Ques when he was 17 years old…and the second he saw Krump, he was sold. He took his time learning and experimenting but about 2 years later decided along with his friends that he wanted to take it more seriously. It’s no wonder he ended up becoming a dancer. There was always space to dance when hanging with family and to this day his family still speaks of him imitating Michael Jackson and Usher as a young child, but he always added his own wild twist to the dances.

COMMUNITY
The Krump community is a very competitive one, but the support and love feels like no other. It’s one of the spaces where coming together always feels like family.

WHY HHH?
“Ques used to teach Krump at Hiphophuis…and I kind of just stuck around. I discovered my other interests here, and it truly became my second home. I could always land here, and have a space where my ideas were supported.
The whole reason The Blockout even is what it is today is because of HHH. I had originally applied to work at HHH, but I didn’t get the job…instead I was asked what I wanted to develop further. The Blockout already existed back then, but it was smaller. HHH helped us with writing to get it subsidized, helped us figure out some of the finances, gave us space to grow, and so it grew into what it is today. HHH really is home.”
